We recognize each child as unique - creative, capable, and deserving of success. We nurture total development: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical.

St. Luke’s Early Childhood Center (ECEC) is located adjacent to St. Luke’s Church in Farmingdale. The center has been in operation since 1987 and is licensed through New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The Center has a staff of thirty-six full and part time teachers and assistant teachers. Our teachers are New York State certified and the staff is professionally trained to meet the requirements of New York State Office of Children and Family Services. In keeping with these guidelines, the staff is trained in day care program development, nutrition and health needs of children, principles of childhood development and safety and security procedures, first aid and CPR to name a few.
We have 13 classrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a full size gymnasium and two outdoor playgrounds complete with swings and several climbing structures. Our center is a locked facility monitored by 7 security cameras. Religious services are attended throughout the school year. Our music program at the direction of Dr. Gene McCoy, teaches our children songs of the seasons, and the opportunity to play musical instruments.
St. Luke’s operates Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 6:00pm. For those children that attend full day classes, we provide a hot lunch prepared in the center’s kitchen. All children receive a snack in the morning and the afternoon.
Safety
Safety of your children is our top priority. Our building is locked during operating hours, with permission to enter being granted by our office staff. Should parents need to drop off late or pick up early, a member of our staff will meet you at the main entrance in the court yard to escort your child. Your child will only be released to an individual authorized and listed by you for pick up.
The parking lot requires cooperation from all parents. Please park in a stall when dropping off and/or picking up. Please be mindful of children’s safety, by not pulling up to an entrance and idling your vehicle. Also, please follow entrance, exit and road directions, while respecting the barriers set up to safely direct traffic.

About Our Summer Program

St. Luke’s Camp is an early childhood experience (ages 3-8) designed to provide summer fun through appropriate social awareness and physical activities. Our goal is to help each camper develop a more positive self-image and a genuine concern for the needs and feelings of others.

Campers, staff and specialists work together to develop the skills we intend to provide for your child. Each camper will receive instruction in Red Cross swimming, gymnastics, music, dance, arts and crafts, athletics and karate lessons. The older children participate in karate lessons twice weekly. A musical presentation by the campers highlights the skills they have acquired in music and dance which parents are invited to attend. In addition, the staff provides special programs and events with different weekly themes.
