Lutheranism has a rich and vibrant musical foundation.
At the direction of our Music Director, Dr. Gene McCoy, we create a rich traditional musical experience at each worship service through all our choirs. One special musical service is our annual ecumenical Lessons & Carols service that we celebrate with our two neighboring churches, St Thomas Episcopal and St. Kilian Roman Catholic.
Choirs
Under our Music Director and his wife, Dr. Gene and Mrs. Robin McCoy, we have the Adult Choir (currently about 15 members), Men’s Choir (currently about 8 members), Luther Choir (Teen), and a Cherub Choir (Pre-K to Grade 2).
Instruments
During Easter and Christmas, we invite brass instruments to help augment our services.
During select choral pieces throughout the year, members of our Men’s choir accompany the anthems with guitars.
We have two handbell choirs, a beginning choir (The King’s Ringers) and an advanced bell choir (Bells of Saint Luke’s) that utilize our 4 ½ octaves of Schulmerich Handbells and 2 octaves of Schulmerich Chimes. They perform several times throughout the year.
Our sanctuary organ is a mechanical action instrument built by Bozeman-Gibson in 1977. It is a two-manual, 14 rank instrument, Opus 13.
